A classic Tri-City weekend fits into two or three days if you know in advance where to eat and what not to miss.
Sopot: the pier and MonciakThe first day belongs to Sopot. Europe's longest wooden pier, a stroll down Bohaterów Monte Cassino ("Monciak") and a photo by the Crooked House make half a day. In the evening a reservation at a beachfront restaurant is often essential — in season tables vanish days ahead.
Gdynia: port and modernismDay two is Gdynia. The waterfront with the ORP Błyskawica warship, the Emigration Museum in the old Maritime Station and the modernist architecture of the centre show a completely different face of the coast than historic Gdańsk.
Gdańsk to finishIf a third day remains, add Gdańsk's Main Town: Długi Targ, the Crane on the Motława and the Amber Museum. The Tri-City is linked by the fast SKM train, so you can leave the car at the hotel.
Tip: start weekend breakfasts before 10 a.m. — later the best cafés in Sopot and Gdynia are packed.
